Here in Rivendell may you be loved May your light shine, and not be gloved May you always find rest May you songs be the best May you drink and be Merry May your checks be like a cherry May your stomach be full May the food not be grull
Grey is my rainment;and rest is my gift. I walk not by day, but sleep upon an island in the tree-shadowed lake of Lorellin. All those who dwell in Valinor come to my fountians and draw refreshment.

Cistern
Sitting beneath the leafless trees He looks out over the barren land Separated from the wind-torn seas Nothing to give but dust and sand Pondering where she might’ve gone Over field, under water, above the sky Never escaped his mind, after so long Wonders why he ever said good-bye
So-long it seems you won’t be back Maybe the heartache will soon subside But until then I’ll be so out of wack What a cruel thing to have time to bide I quit listening to rumors because they’re all Untrue since I now know there’s no return For you and though I stummble and fall Into darkness in my dried-up cistern
Now sitting under a tree in full-bloom She stares into the sea of green grass Everything is full and leaving no room For Emptiness and this poor lonely lass Wondering why she left his embrace For sugary clouds and impossible dreams Than enjoy what she had at an even pace Just them both an impenetrable team
So-long it seems I won’t be back I pray my memory will soon subside Showing affection is what I lack Until it’s perfected you have time to bide Maybe soon those rumors will be true When I decide to make a new return Accomplishing what I so want to do To break your fall at the end of the cistern

Este, I love your poem! It's so cute and cute! lol nice job! Yavanna, I remember reading that poem about 2 years ago, it seems to make so much more sense now. Love it! Thanks both for contributing! Get more people over here!
Over The Horizon
The view from the top is something As you stand on the mountain's peak But what's this? Area of unseen days Blackened line of death and unseen fortune Where does it lead? An unknown destintaion We wonder about the things that lay Over the horizon of this, Our land A sense of danger is felt here But the call is much the greater So for now, just sit and gaze Over the horizon, dreaming of adventures until It's time to move on.

Well, I posted this on a different thread, but no one's read it, so here it is again.
Well, here's a short little song I wrote, it's probably dumb but I just did it because I needed a quick song for someone to be singing in my book.
Galaduin's Lament
I met thee in the morning, In the pale light of dawn so fair. The gleam of the last star smiled on thee, But there lay my despair.
You took me away then to The fair land by the sea, my love, It seemed as a life so perfect then, But shadow it was of.
One night as I lay sleeping, You quietly slipped away from me. I knew as the sun went from the sky It was the last of thee.
May also made up a good tune for it, but obviously I can't post that, which is annoying because it's half the effect.
Me and May made up a world and there are a bunch of Elf-Angel sort of people, we call them Huin-Tu-Cheb which means They-That-Keep, and they were guardians of stuff in their world. Well, two of them had a daughter named Galadae, and she married an Elf (:o) and their daughter was Galaduin. Then Galaduin married a Man, and this song is about him. In the last verse it was about when he died, because Galaduin was like immortal and he wasn't. Isn't it sad?
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight Mist and shadow, cloud and shade Hope shall fade, all shall fade.
I wrote this poem off the top of my head on this forum where I rule Rivvy..tis about Rivvy, well here tis it:
Oh weary traveler from afar or near Your feet have finally led you here Where good food in an elven hall Can be served by a waterfall Come and give rest to your feet Or with good friends of old meet You here can safely rest in the secret West in the valley brings many bliss to have come to Imladris
it needs some editing and such, but tis a rough draft probably..

She grasps tightly to her clouded mind And I wonder when she'll let it rain - It's all under control, I can push through this She says as the tissues fly to the wastebasket What goes around comes around And soon its pushing her under its control Dream of yesterday When the sun shone through the leaves Of yellow and red and orange and brown Casting shadows of brilliant shapes upon the ground On and off Boots or flip-flops? Can't you make up your clouded mind? Let it rain.
